life of charmings

love, family, happiness

April 12, 2010 in husband· travels

a little trip to san an

last thursday, stevo and i took off on an interesting little journey to the land of san antonio, texas. there’s a big reason behind this trip: in just a few months, my dear, sweet, hard-working prince charming of a husband will be put on a job in san antonio for a whole year.

sooo, a vacay home in san antonio will be fun, right? i’ll soon be hopping on airplanes, racking up the air miles and enjoying multiple cities. maybe i’ll start traveling with a posse! like a hair stylist, everyone with a posse travels with their hair stylist, i think. i don’t think mine will want to travel with me. i don’t pay enough.

san antonio is definitely different, but it’s a nifty little city. big city. we spent some time browsing places to stay, but we did some fun san antonio-ish things, too. liiiiike…

dinner at italian restaurant, piatti:

i know they have these in california and some other states, but we don’t have one in nash, so we tried it! i gave it a 3/10 for it’s italianness. steven gave it a 5/10. then i switched to a 5 because 3 just felt mean. maybe i’ll move it up to a 6. we liked it, we did. our meals just had an interestingly zingy taste that we don’t usually find in our italian food. but the service was good.. and i did appreciate the fact that apparently the servers there are required to be attractive, muscular, brunette males. i wasn’t complaining.

lunch along the riverwalk:

there is no shortage of little birdies at the riverwalk [notice mr. ducky entering a restaurant]. we made lots of little birdy friends while we ate our lunch. they all came over to chat.. mostly about what food we’d be willing to share with them.. but they made me feel like cinderella so i was okay with that.

the riverwalk is such a neat little area and we had a lovely time strolling by the river. i just don’t understand how people aren’t constantly falling in! i mean, the combination of bars and tiny sidewalks really seems like it would be killer. i feel like spending time there is taking a little bit of a risk. i know i’m bound to tumble in at some point. probably while i’m trying to make friends with a duck.

friday night spurs game!

friday night, we sat in some fun courtside seats at the spurs game against the memphis grizzlies. [it didn’t take us long to notice that the whole grizzlies team was staying at our hotel for the weekend.. they were for real the tallest people we’ve ever ever seen. like.. 47 feet tall.] we both agreed that spurs games are fun x’s 99! we approve. wholeheartedly. you know who else approves? eva longoria. our girl eva was there supporting her frenchy hub, tony parker. that’s right. the parkers. they are one hot couple.

beautiful goddess eva was such a good little wifey, wearing her cute little black #9 shirt and a #9 necklace. she walked past us in all her hot glory and i just knew we could be bff. maybe she’ll be in my posse. maybe she’ll let me in her posse! maybe she’ll invite us to her massive new san antonio house.

our san an adventures then came to a close [for the time being]. we had an early saturday morning arrival at the airport.. a peaceful plane ride.. and we were back in nashville by 11 am! yay! san antonio is beautiful, but home is home and we were ever so glad to get back. we spent the rest of the weekend basking in the sun and sharing meals with fun friends. hallelujah! life… is good.
