life of charmings

love, family, happiness

growing old together

this summer marks 14 years together for me and my sweetest horseylove babyboy, casey!

[july 1997 // july 2011]

fourteen years! and in these 14 years, he’s taught me more about communication, patience and unconditional love than i even have words for [probably because he did not use any words to teach me about these things.] i just love him to pieces.

we spent some quality time together yesterday afternoon, which is always refreshing and exactly what i need. we took a long walk, cantered up hills and chased a few bunny rabbits. i love that after all the years we spent training and working so hard for competitions, we just get to play around now. and i’m so very proud of him for doing so well as a 24 year old! he’s aging quite gracefully. and i sure hope he says the same about me when he gets out to the pasture. he. is. wonderful.

[ps. i was pretty excited about the 14 year pola photo remake! although i really wish impossible film wasn’t so light-sensitive.]

This is so sweet. It is amazing the bond that develops between animals and humans. My daughter took riding lessons when she was little and loved it. She had such bad allergies that she had to quit. xo

i LOVE this post. it seriously brought a tear to my eye. the connection between people and animals is so special. it's hard to tell if they are ours….or we are theirs.

    love the pictures.

This was such a sweet post! 14 years IS a long time..considering most relationships don't even last that long 😉 what a beautiful horse!
