life of charmings

love, family, happiness

April 3, 2012 in baby· baby bump· pregnancy

22 weeks of baby!

the little ladybump is 22 weeks now… and apparently she’s the size of a coconut! so, obviously, i’ve been doing my part to make sure she’s getting plenty of vitamin d* [the sunshine was so gorgeous over the weekend… who needs maternity clothes when you’ve got a swim suit!] and she’s definitely been doing her part to work out those new limbs of hers as often as possible. little thing has sure grown like crazy in the last 10 weeks. i’m so proud! and we really do love her tiny soul so much already. it’s neat how that works.

just lately, with 18 more weeks to go, i have been getting a *little* bit more curious to see her face… but honestly, i still like having her just with me all the time. i like her parked right where she is for now and for the summer, all cozy and safe from the world. and there’s something so completely fascinating about having such a strong connection with someone that you can’t see. i love getting to start our relationship that way.

i know 18 weeks is still a long while, but it’ll go by fast. everything does. then, when it’s time for little lady to join us out here in the oxygen, it will be the happiest of occasions, and we can just smuggle/snuggle her away to neverland and we’ll all be young and happy forever. that’s pretty much my plan. [i wonder if she’ll inherit my affinity for drifting off into make believe daydream situations? anyway, i just need to make sure she never grows up, ever!]

and nope, we still haven’t named her. isn’t that weird, that she just doesn’t have a name right now? what a thing to have to bestow a name upon somebody! so, i’m sorry, baby girl! no monograms just yet.

*i was just recently reading some report about children with allergies and asthma tending to have lower levels of vitamin d. get out in the sunshine, peeps! it’s the very best way to get your d! but don’t burn, that’s bad.

    You are sooooo cute!

I was thinking about names the other day. How parents can kind of shape lives by giving their child a name. Crazy!! Goodluck!
