[yesterday, maddalena and i had our first coffee date together. i really like to bond with people over coffee, so it was only natural.]
5 really silly reasons why i love having a baby:
- i’ve always hated waking up on monday mornings, all by my lonesome after a weekend of waking up with my dear husband, [we don’t get up at the same time during the week. i am quite a zombie at 6am. sorry, babe!] and even though i miss him when he’s gone during the week, i don’t have to wake up alone anymore! yay!
- maddalena is the real life baby doll of all my little girl dreams. as a child, i mean, i spent hours/days/years caring for my baby dolls, nursing them and changing them and carrying them everywhere. i practiced for this day a whole, whole lot. and i would always see those commercials for the dolls that “really” ate or peed or cried and wanted them so bad. well guess what! maddalena does all that!
- i can take her places that i’m not allowed to take minnie. haha. okay, but seriously. minnie’s been my fluffy baby for four years, and it’s always made me so sad to have to leave her at home or in the car. but my tiny human baby! she goes with me! i get excited. [and mildly terrified. we have a very small window between eatings and sleepings. not to mention my germ paranoia. i digress…] i’m still sad when i can’t take minnie in places, although, i’d probably need a few more arms at this point.
- maddalena thinks i’m really funny. she and i have this in common.
- so, not only do i get to make all the ridiculous faces and voices i want, i’m encouraged to! [not that anything ever stopped me before.]
- adding a sixth reason… we get to celebrate monthly birthdays. and today she is 3 months! happy 3, my beautiful baby flower blossom!
aaaand so! there you have it.
Aaaww love this post. It's great being a mother, and its so amazing to watch our little children grow up…

Reading this made me start to really hope our baby is a girl. I have been open to both this whole time, but you just opened a can of worms from my childhood and now I really just want to play dress up with a baby girl 🙂
