the tiniest [and sleepiest!] pirate

pretty much as soon as my husband got home from work yesterday, he was digging our pirate costumes out of the attic. let me tell you, that boy would be a pirate every single year if i let him. but, we haven’t worn our pirate costumes since the year we got married, so! this was the year! especially since we hadn’t planned anything else ahead of time. and actually, steven put on his pirate shirt and eye patch, but we couldn’t find his jack sparrow wig, and i ended up just throwing on my pirate head thing and some boots with what i was already wearing, which i realized was kind of piratey already [a part of me is always trying to channel my inner elizabeth swann, i think!], and then put maddalena’s most piratey clothing on her and there we were! a quick pirate family! i’m pretty sure this was fulfilling some kind of pirate family fantasy for all of us involved. well, for me and steven, at least. sleepy girl maddalena was not so thrilled, but she was the cutest little pirate girl ever in the whole world! argh!
