[this is one of my favorite photos lately!]
for kiiind of a long time now i have had visions of having a record player in our family room. serious visions. mostly involving christmas music [watch out, christmas 2013], plus a lot of sinatra, with some ella fitzgerald here and there. so, finally, my dreams came true this christmas! and i got my record player. thanks mom & dad. and as a bonus, sister gave me two glorious old italian albums she found, and let me say, they make my glass of chianti taste even better!
other dreams of mine lately are involving a big farmhouse table. like, i just really want one. so, here it is. in writing. one day i will have a big ole, solid, wooden farmhouse table in my home. with lots of kiddies sitting around it. eating sandwiches. but all the kids aren’t necessarily ours, some of them are friends. but at least three of them are ours, i hope.
isn’t it funny how your little visions change? it doesn’t seem like that long ago that i was picturing my one-day wedding, and would it be to that boy named steven? oh, if only i’d known. and now there’s this thing called motherhood that’s brought my restless spirit such a sense of contentment… and here i am dreaming of tables 😉 never thought i’d see the day! [well, but i did, because this is totally the life i’ve always wanted. happily ever after. it just happened surprisingly fast!]
Isn't it funny the things we get excited about as we get older? I remember not long ago being excited about dresses and shoes and now a new couch and bedframe are on the top of my shopping list!
I've always wanted a record player too… I just wouldn't have anywhere to put it. Hope you get your farmhouse table soon!
