waking up to a basket of fresh veggies and a happy sunflower has been so delightful for me over the last week or so! these bright beauties have made my kitchen feel so so summertimey, and clearly it had to be documented from all angles.
also, we got to enjoy a little summer visit this week from our out-of-town cousin and his lady! most of my family is far away, so it was really wonderful to see them. naturally, we made sure to fill their bellies with some good ole southern cuisine at the loveless cafe. and well, when i say their bellies, all i know is… my belly was pretty pleased with that decision 😉
for a couple of weeks now now, my mom and i have both been checking into this live stream of the cutest miniature horse who is pregnant and going to have her baby any. day. now. horses are pregnant for almost a year, can you even believe it? so, this poor pony girl, she has got to have that baby soon. now, steven thinks it is borderline crazy for me to be so concerned with this horse, but i can’t help it! i love checking in on her. and then texting my mom about it. duh. although, i do get confused when i leave the stream up in one room, and then later hear whinnying in my house.
and speaking of havin’ babies! don’t even get me started on the precious sweetness that is william and kate and their new baby prince. i think they are magical and i just want to be near them. and it’s not just because they’re royal… i think they seem so genuinely in love and kind, and their wedding had me in a complete pile of mush. so, this whole royal baby thing? oh, i can’t get enough! also, i cannot begin to imagine having the whole world so focused on such an intimate and private occasion, and then having your baby’s face immediately plastered all over everything as soon as you step out of the hospital, but she handles everything so gracefully! an inspirational one, that duchess catherine.
we are getting ready to celebrate miss maddalena’s birthday a bit early on saturday [her birthday is tuesday], and then my daddy’s on sunday [his is wednesday]. so, yay! a weekend for two of my very favorite people on this planet! and goodness, it’s so crazy to think back to this time last year when i was having that little princess. you know. just like the duchess 😉
