my sweet and beautiful grandmom came to town last week with my also sweet and beautiful cousin, bella! and it was so so wonderful to get to see them. especially since maddalena and grandmom still had yet to meet… and with maddo being her very first great-grandbaby, it was such a treat to finally see them together!! maddalena took to grandmom so quickly, which she really doesn’t do with everybody, but then again, there is something pretty magical about a woman who has six children and 20 million grandchildren! many giggles were had and oh, you know that just warms my mushy heart. also, maddalena got her middle name, rose, from a rosa in grandmom’s family tree, which i just really will always love for so many reasons.
how beautiful is that woman? i reeeally hope she passed along some of her youthful genetics to me me me! anyway, for a little more celebration of maddalena’s birthday, we took her to pick out some gifties from grandmom at the toy store… and let me just tell you about a one year old in a toy store! the girl. wanted. it all.
grandmom and maddalena settled on a raggedy ann doll, which is something grandmom got me as a babe! and a singing talking puppy, because that puppy had maddalena dancing in the middle of the store.
it was, of course, so fun to see maddalena having fun with bella, too! bella was sooo good with her and honored so many of her requests to visit with the donkeys 🙂 and hey, that makes two cousins [out of a million] that we’ve gotten to see this summer! woohoo! it’s too bad we don’t get to see all of our family more often, but that makes it all the more special when we do!
thanks for coming down to see us, grandmom and bella! and ew, sorry ’bout all that rain! we love you guys!
