a little winter visit from friends

my sweet friend morgan came to nashville last week! she and her littlest man, william, came to stay with us [we stayed at the  farm, because it’s the farm, and also, we have no guest room in our little casa these days!], and well, wouldn’t you know, the very day they were set to arrive in nashville, we were covered in snow. and while snow is really pretty and all… i’ll be honest! having guests made me immediately wish for summertime. especially with the babes running around! i so wished we were basking by the pool, or romping outside wearing next to nothing, and having a few extra hours of daylight. i mean, i guess i know well enough by now that i’m pretty terrible at wintertime. ha. i really am. but! we did our best to bundle and romp in all the 34 degrees that the winter sun could muster!

anyway, i have to say, morgan has a heart of gold. she’s really one of the loveliest, most genuine, patient ladies that i know, and i am so grateful for her blog-turned-real-life friendship! we hadn’t seen each other since our sea island “blacation”, and i really enjoyed getting to catch up with her and learn even more about her this time around. we talked about the important stuff, you know, like which VS models are our favorites [because the fashion show was on, duh], and how does morgan like her louboutin pumps? 😉 but really, i think we talked about everything! actual important stuff, too. it’s so nice to sit and relate so much on mommyhood, wifeyhood, and all sorts of life things.

also, of course, i forgot the silly battery for my big camera for the whole four days we were together. such a bummer! so, i ended up with my mish mosh of iphone photos and nothin’ fancy…

m in the snazziest santa hat // w trying to convince her that boys don’t have cooties [she still didn’t buy it. sorry, w!] // playing in the leftover snow with our babes! // a bit of christmas on the little barn // m accidentally got her little fingers into my chocolate chip cookie one evening & had her first taste of chocolate! // ugg weather, for sure // the babies loved the toy train around the little kids’ tree. // mamas & babies // the one thing we really set out to accomplish all week was a meal at the loveless cafe. we finally made it over on our last day together, but the wait was just too long for us to eat and make it home for nap time! so, we just walked around a little and got ourselves some face hole pics. ha! oh well!
