last saturday marked our six year wedding anniversary!
six long and short years ago on a hot, sunny day, my most handsome prince charming became my most handsome prince husband charming. that day we got fancy. he wore monogrammed cufflinks. i wore a big, pretty white dress. we made a snazzy day of it! put some rings on, danced all eve, then took off to jamaica to bask among the peacocks. and sleep. because i got maybe 3 hours a night the week before our wedding, nerveball that i am!
fast forward six biggies, and hey, here we are! i woke up to sunshine and a babe all in my cuddle, crazy hair in a bundle on top of my head [which steven not-so-affectionately calls my “bird’s nest”], in a big ole shirt that states my love language [caffeination]. knowing his wife of six years all too well, that husband of mine had light pink roses, coffee, and yummy treats waiting for me when i woke up!
can i just say how much i love being six years in?

we popped some celebratory afternoon bubbly, and subsequently taught maddalena the word bubbly, because, education. anyway, “to 6 more!” steven said, so sooo romantically. 😉
the pastor that married us had our vows end in the words, “because i love you,” and i have always appreciated that so much. for every time that it’s not been the easiest, i know it’s all because i love steven and i always have and i always will! love. bam. love is why!
we went out to dinner at our favorite little italian spot where we ate and ate and the waiter put two candles in our gelato! he also asked steven while i was in the restroom if we had “big plans” for our anniversary. ha! well, we were enjoying a nice dinner for two… so, surely by big plans he meant…
…THIS! right!? because going home to snuggle and smother our baby with love is pretty much all the big plans i need. 🙂
i love love. and i’m so thankful for a successful six down! plus, my psychic abilities tell me there are maaany more than six more happy years to go… sorry to correct your calculations there, stevo!! you may be señor estimator among the business men, but it loooooks like i’m the senior estimator in this house. estimator of love, that is. no math involved. just feelings. when do i get my raise? i love you.

aw thanks!! she has a few non-working cameras that she plays with, but she grabs our phones to snap real ones! she runs the show here, obviously 😉

pretty much the sweetest adorablest couple ever! happy anni sweet friend!!! and pretty sure that your big plans are the BEST plans there ever were!!! i love every year of marriage and how the messy and crazy are also the beautiful and cuddly times. yall are precious and you made a beautiful babe! maybe yall should make more k? but let me know so i can tell my next born to be born on the same day again because birthday twins for life right?!?

Congrats on the big SIX years! How exciting. Looks like you had a great anniversary! The pink roses are so pretty, and treats from Starbucks are always a good option! 🙂 So, I know you are also a Diana Gabaldon, or rather, a Jamie and Claire, fan. Her new book came out today! I am having a hard time not getting it, but my friend and I are going to meet her on Friday at a book signing, so I have to wait to get it there!
