hello there, 26 weeks of a little bambino!!
i know life is going to really start to fly by here so so soon,
so i’ve been trying to make sure i take the time to just enjoy it all!
and reminding myself that i only get this short bit of time
to have his little kicks and flutters aaaall to myself. 🙂
it’s been so funny doing all this baby growing for a second time around…
it’s a little more relaxed and a little more fast paced all at once!
i mean, that first time is just one surprise after the next every step of the way,
and that’s what first times are for, right!!
but i was totally ready for the laid-back approach this time,
and i have to say, it is so nice!
liiiike… the only shopping i really need to… no, get to do
is mostly for precious little boy clothes, some bonus blue things, and a little nursery decor.
i’m also much less neurotically concerned about the temperature of my bathwater,
or the fact that i accidentally ate cheese wrapped in deli turkey once at a costco sample stand.
[oops! i just wanted it soooo much, totally forgot the deli meat rules! those costco samples, i tell you, they are catnip to my inner feline.]
then, on the flip side, i remember thinking when i was pregnant with maddalena,
[begin dramatic southern belle voice] “oh i muuust get my rest! i’m so weary!
must rest for baby! i wonder how on earth you do this once you have multiple children!”
and now i realize, ooh yes, that whole well-rested thing?
well, that’s a first time pregnancy perk, for sure! 😉
but anyway! life is good, and we’re excited!
now, groooow, baby boy!! chunk your little tush on up!
summer will be here befoooore we know it!
[and i caaan’t wait, because get me on a pool float, ASAP!]
26 weeks already!?! that was so quick! pregnancy looks good on you! you are such a beauty! first time surprises are so fun, but nothing beats laid back!!!
right?! time is flying!! but then again another part of me was like, "26?! i could've sworn we were already at 27!" and also, thank you thank you my dear!!
Haha I love your dramatic Southern belle voice (read in Scarlett O'Hara's voice, le DUH). Also, I am loving reading all about your second time around!!! It's…. comforting I suppose? If that makes sense. Also making me excited for when we have our second! And, giiiiiirl, don't even sweat the deli meat thing, or any other silly rule. Moderation is always key! 😉 YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL. thank you so much, beauty!! and yes yes, you'll get there with the second one!! i was nowhere near ready to consider it when m was sam's age, i can promise you that!! but then eventually i was like, "this girl NEEDS a sibling!" you know, among other growing family thoughts, and then it was just the right next step for us. 🙂 🙂

Ahh there's that baby bump! And dressed in such lovely colors also. Isn't it amazing what a little sunshine and green grass can do?! I bet Maddalena is getting so excited. You should do an interview with her and get all of her answers about the new baby-I laughed out loud at her name choice from your earlier post!
So happy! You look darling. And seriously, all those little rules (ie lunchmeat) totally kill me sometimes.

lol! First time pregnancy perk, for sure! I wish for the days of the first pregnancy when I could nap and sleep all the time! You look incredible mama! You're really glow! And yay for boys! We found out #2 is a boy as well! 🙂

I loled at the bath water temp! I think I avoided baths altogether for the first two trimester of my pregnancy with tuck. This time- no way!
