obsessed: favorite children’s toys for the mini-me!

2. shopping cart – i will never forget when we first got this thing!! i would laugh sooo hard watching my baby girl load it up with her knick-knacks and prized possessions and stroll it all around the house like a tiny bag lady. it was the best… and now, a few years later, this toy is still such a hit!! both our little babes and all their friends that come over just love to push it around with who knows what in it!

3. vintage kitchen – this has been the most popular toy in our house, hands down!! we got it when our girly turned two years old, and to this day both of our babes play with it endlessly. not only that, but every single child that comes over to our house heads straight for the kitchen! also, it’s sooo pretty! OH! and of course, you must get some foods and things to go with it, although, you’re then entering into very dangerous 1-million-pieces-all-over-the-floor territory. still!! i think a little set of various foods as well as a set of pots, plates and things is just perfect. and of course every kitchen needs a toaster, blender and mixer. [we have those, too, and kids are obsessed!!]

4. little white piano – yet another thing we’ve had since our firstborn turned one, and it is just the cutest thing on this planet!! really, it’s a gorgeous, timeless toy instrument that all children absolutely love to make beauuuuutiful melodies on! 😉

5. remote control & cell phone – since little hands are aaalways reaching for actual remote controls and phones around here, we have acquired a plethora of these things in toy version! this remote has been a favorite for baby boy, for sure. and although i don’t want all their toys to be battery operated, things like this with buttons and sounds can sure come in handy!! ooh, and the amount of play phones we have around here is hilarious at this point… but they are so played with, i can’t get rid of any of them!

6. laptop – another item in the household purchased to save the real thing, haha! both of my little ones have loooonged to bang on the keyboard of my laptop as babies, which is why we actually ended up with the cutest pink princess laptop long before baby girl could do anything other than smack the keys… and i absolutely cannot figure out why they seem to have stopped making it!!! [but one on ebay for $12?! snag it!!] the fact that it was just like mommy’s was good enough at the time… and now at age 4, she’s grown into the actual games on it! her brother loooves it now, too, so i am thinking this little black one is on his christmas list!

7. play vacuum – if you have a little one who is scared of the vacuum, this is a great thing to introduce!! when i first saw this cute baby vac [a purple & pink version!] well, for the price i  just knew santa claus would be bringing it to one little mini-me that was purely terrified of our household vacuum. over time, i think it definitely helped her to take on the “responsibility” a little bit herself and just get used to the idea of it. and now! our little man is obsessed with vacuums of all shapes and sizes and pushes this thing around all over the place.
