on the last day of my twenties, we finally decorated our christmas tree!! for the last week or so, i have absolutely loved having it up, even without the ornaments. why don’t we just always have christmas trees up?!
on the last day of my twenties, i met my parents over at my childhood home [crazy!] and snagged some early 1900s cabinetry that had come from my grandparents in pennsylvania. my parents had installed them in my brother’s room in that house, but it was all left behind when we moved onto the farm. [life before farmhome, can you even believe it!?] the cabinet doors have the original glass and it’s all made of lovely, heavy-duty wood. my mom had given it beautiful new hardware… and the current homeowners were selling the whole shebang! how perfect. i figured we needed them back in the fam… even if it now means coming out of major-home-DIY-retirement that i promised myself for a little while. woops!
okay, the last day of my twenties might have seen a momentary, minor crisis-meltdown. tis the season?
and on the last day of my twenties, i hugged all my people… and when i finally got them all to sleep  [if only my babes were more willing to sleep than my husband is!] i watched my nightly episode of cheers because that is currently my very favorite ritual.

Happy happy birthday! 30 is truly a great age, and decade (I'm in my 4th year of this decade, and can attest to the truth of that!). Think of all you have accomplished in 30 short years, your two precious babes being the best of all! Anyway, hope you have a wonderful, beautiful, festive birthday with your peeps!

And in the mean time wine will keep me young. Looking. Hey! How amazing is that cabinet story! I am thrilled you were able to snatch it up before anyone else! It has to stay in the family! Annnd mini meltdowns are a thing this time of year I think. I feel like I have one sort of hanging out juuust over my right shoulder lately. Shoo meltdowns! Happy thoughts only! Enjoy your day!!! HBD Beebee!! Welcome to the dirty thirty club lol I'm on my 3rd year in my 30's (oh hey Laurie!) and it has by far been my favorite years! While I am never ever a fan of aging and what comes with it (I'd much prefer being nostalgic with my memories thank you) I have to say, being a mom and a wife in my 30s is my fave and I feel like I'm getting better at each role in this decade too 🙂 Cheers to you on your special day!!!
