a golden little mother’s day

…some golden shots from mother’s day evening! we had a day of swimming and sunshine followed by a dinner of dogs and burgs… ahhh, this is my happy place. give me sunset enjoyment any day of the week! especially on mother’s day. <3

and in honor of motherhood! here are some of my very favorite things about life with my lovebunnies, maddalena and rocco…

1. listening to their tiny conversations. i love that they have a relationship all their own. i love hearing them share their thoughts with each other over their tiny dinners at their tiny table. i love that maddalena can understand rocco better than anyone else!
2. how rocco gently holds your face with both hands sometimes when he’s talking to you. or about to smooch you.
3. maddalena’s sweet, caring heart. she’s sensitive and nurturing and it just makes me want to give her like, a thousand little baby bunnies to snuggle with!
4. their homebody spirits combined with their love for a good trip elsewhere. they’re always down to lounge at home or hop on an airplane and those are my perfect peoples, right there.
5. CURLS! oh, the curls.
6. rocco’s left handedness, tousled bedhead, and mischievous smile. i seriously think he’s just the coolest. he’s the most charming little huckleberry finn.
7. maddalena’s creativity. she’s always drawing and painting or cutting and glueing or singing and dancing! she expresses her joy so well through her creativity, and i adore it oooh so much.
8. their snuggles. they are literally the snuggliest humans on the planet.
9. how maddalena remembers everything, and basically keeps my life in order. 🙂
10. rocco LOVES to take the lead in our prayers. even at the dinner table, if someone else starts praying, he’s just going to start praying himself, anyway. we let him do it and it’s the most precious thing.

…i could probably list a MILLION things!! but i’ll stop at 10 for now. 🙂 those babes are my absolute favorite part of life, and i’m sure lucky to have them!! and to have my amazing mom, as well. she still takes care of her family so unselfishly, and i’m sooooo eternally grateful. i loooove you, my mommy!
