…we did it!
so, last week we celebrated our 10 year anniversary out of town with some of our best friends! one of the fun things about being married 10 years is that it means we’ve been friends with maggie and matt for 10 years, too. we literally met them just a few weeks after getting married at a dinner that an older couple down the street was hosting for young couples in the neighborhood. aaand that was that! i remember looking maggie up on facebook right after and totally stalking all their wedding photos. haha.
we’ve gone through some crazy life times with them, we’ve pretty well synchronized all of our baby-having, and we’d done juuuust about everything except take a trip together. so, it was a perfect way to celebrate anniversaries, babymoons, and friendship in general! we have much to be grateful for. <3
PLUS, that meant steven and i got to exchange our 10 year gifts ahead of time! i mean, what i gave him – being a wine fridge – was just a hair too sizable to travel with. but he likes his wine chilled! and i like my finger blingy! so exchange early, we did! my ring that steven gave me [which, no, i had no idea about] was too tight to begin with, so we had to run straight back to the store so i could size up and wear it IMMEDIATELY!!! but it was adorable because the kids actually loved the jewelry store and maddalena got to try on pretty things, herself! i melted.

[and maggie and matt! haha! actually, they have their 11 years of marriage coming up this month! and they’re also having a baby boooy just a few months before we are, too. finally, our patient little rocco is about to be made leader of a whole boy troop!]
May I ask where you all stayed? Were you on the beach or did you have to walk to the beach? We are on the hunt for a 30A location for next summer and will have a 9 and 5 year old so we want to be close to the beach if possible 🙂
we drove to the beach, actually! and there was very little parking! haha. my in laws have a place near seaside in a neighborhood across the street from the beach side. i don’t know the area very well, so i’m sorry i’m no help!! but i agree, walkable is best with babes!!
Oh such fun! Seeing kiddos who have known each other literally all of their existence is the best! And as always these photos are amazing. And way to go with the gift situation! I too would have needed a replacement immediately! It’s so gorgeous!! Happy anniversary to you both!!!!
