just after christmas, baby luca hit 2 months old!
2 months! and he is the very best thing. i can’t believe how quickly 2 months have passed. i mean, i can, but i can’t. it still surprises me what time can do…
but here we are! still so new, but a smidge more stable. i’m so proud of every chunk and roll he’s developed [he had a bit of a skinny spell that was a lot of work to overcome!], and at this phase i just love nothing more than to see him light up as we have the tiniest chats, or when he sees his sissy and brother walk up to play with him!
i’d previously worried that jumping back into the newborn phase would feel like taking steps backwards in life… i’d gotten used to a crazier, faster stage. but gosh, how quickly i’d forgotten that these itty bitty humans are the absolute most magical! he’s reminded me that slowing down is such a gift. that soaking in all my babies is the most important thing right now. that life is crazy and imperfect and that’s actually OKAY. it all goes too fast, anyway, doesn’t it?
every slow, snuggly minute i get with him, daytime or middle of the night, just feels like a huge blessing. i mean, i can’t even cope with his charming smile. his new noises. his little baby pride at all his tiny but huge milestones. he eats like a champ and cuddles even better. third babies are reallyyyy special, i have to say!

Oh he really is just chunking right on up! Which is all you mama so congrats! How fast it goes by is right! Tends to set me over the edge if i focus too much on it. So I try not to. Happy two months chunky monkey!!
