martinis were shaken. dinner was served.
records were played. gifts were given!

and later that night, as the men puffed manly cigars on the porch
and the ladies fanned the smoke out of their noses,
it started to rain. and rain harder. and storm!
then big lightening and thunder shook the whole entire earth
aaaand all the electricity went out. boom.
[it felt kind of like one of those murder mystery parties, only no one was fake-murdered.]
goodbye electricity, hello cake and ice cream by candle light…
yum. birthdays are fun. i think my daddy dearest quite enjoyed it.
[and hello, betty draper makes me want to wear dresses all the time, every day, forever and ever and always… and i think, when did the world get so unfancy? but then i happily put on my comfies and i don’t feel quite as strongly about the world’s low fanciness level. oh, but what a doll she is.]
i wear a skirt every day. and i love it. and i think we should all be dressy skirt wearers again.
