we celebrated my younger brother, stephen’s
22nd birthday this year with an 80s workout
themed family dinner party! woooooowee!
[*some people were born in the 90s, can you believe that?]
so, we made him wear the finest of short-shorts,
ordered a few pizzas, stuck candles in a rockem sockem robot
cake creation by my mother dearest, and hallelujah,
there’s even an 80s cardio pandora station!

i think, as a family, we have a record number of theme birthdays under our belts these days, which now includes a 50s/60s birthday, a 60s/70s birthday, aaaand an 80s birthday. i think maybe the decade birthdays might be my fav so far! and i know i’ve said it a million times, but i love these people. a lot. i love that we have fun together. and i sure love husband for fitting himself right in to our craziness 🙂
[and see last photo: minnie seriously loves presents. you’ve never seen a creature go crazy for gifts the way she does, which just shows you what a spoiled little nugget she is… and it doesn’t help that my father hides treats inside everyone’s gifts now which just encourages the ridiculous behavior. but it’d be so sad to disappoint her! so, yes, minnie. all gifts are for you.]

emma & jessica, that's how my brother is, too! i was born at the end of '86 and he was born at the beginning of 1990. it's crazy to me how much farther apart in age that makes us seem, but we really aren't that far apart!
