stevo and i got aaaall fancy last weekend for the heart gala, put on by the aha, because february is apparently “heart month!” for valentine’s and heart disease and all that. so, we made some last minute plans to go out and show our mature side just a little bit since steven’s work for the past year and a half has been on a project building a big cardiovascular center hospital expansion [aaand in brittany terms: make hospital building bigger for major heart surgery stuff], which is finally wrapping up. so, anyway, i pretty much heard “heart theme, fancy dress” and i was happy to join! i love a sparkly evening with a handsome husband and a chance to wear my favorite heels. and we had fun together.

so, it was nice to get all prettied up for an evening! although we did have to use a number of safety pins in a very confusing tux collar situation before we made it out of the house, but, i mean, hopefully we pulled it together somewhat decently.
and! my favorite part was that the event was held at the same place we had our wedding reception and neither of us had been back there since! so, as we sat down for dinner, i was kind of in awe of the beautiful ballroom all over again, thinking back to our big, pretty day, almost four whole years ago. ahhh, that day 🙂
my other favorite was the heart shaped dessert they served. you make it heart shaped and i’m in! i’m in all the way.
**i also realized this day that i am on the brink of actually looking legitimately pregnant… which is a good thing! but when i really consider what that entails, my feelings are not unlike those of a caffeinated jessie spano.
you looked so fabulous! you and hubby! i love any event that gets me dolled up, hehe. but then when it is for a good cause, even better!
