what abouuuut cravings? let’s talk about the cravings. i’ve had four major cravings in this order: 1.) donuts, which i never eat, 2.) hot dog, which i love, 3.) chips & dip, which i never eat, 4.) mozzarella sticks, which i love. i never even got to have chips & dip because when i went to the store late-night to get some, all the dips had MSG. i try to avoid the nasty preservatives when i can help it, so i just craved them and it was torture. on the other hand, mozzarella sticks are the best craving ever! it’s always the perfect amount, so fulfilling. but that’s been it for cravings. actually, i’ve had infinitely more food aversions than cravings. don’t come near me with your marinated meats and fancy sauces. that is just not going to happen.
is baby b going to be a boy or a girl? goooood question! we get to find out soon! i loooove to know things, i love to know all things… so, the big gender day is all set and just one month away! i can’t believe so many people can wait the whole time to find out. wow, such incredible discipline! i feel like i’ve already waited an eternity. i’m like, zero percent patient. i will admit that. but also, i’m just a little obsessed with preparation. by the time we even found out about baby, i already had a huge folder of internet bookmarks labeled “baby.” you know, just in case.
so, tell us all about your new super powers! well, i can smell things. my sense of smell is out of control now and not so much in a fun way. no one told me this could happen!! and i just feel really bad for dogs, how they just always have to smell everything all of the time. and for me, some things have taken on smells that i didn’t think they had before? like, when i got my new boots for my birthday i thought they smelled so amazing because they’re leather! i love the smell of leather. but now! my boots smell awful! and the second i walk into my closet i can smell them. it is the weirdest!
what are the fluffs going to think when tiny human joins the household?? well, i think sophiekitty will be pretty cool about it. she’ll probably think tiny human is some kind of person-shaped dog at first, but then eventually they’ll cuddle. but minnie! minnie just has no idea what she’s in for. minnie loves babies a whooole lot. i think she’ll pretty much just think the baby is hers… and i think letting her think that is probably going to be our best option.
and what preg + baby awesomes are you most looking forward to, dearest self? well… having a belly that doesn’t just look like i down a six-pack of beer every night, gender day, woooo! feeling baby kicks [hurry up!], decorating the nursery, buying tiny cute things, therapeutically flopping around the pool this summer, and then meeting our real live baby in august! and i will probably just die when i see steven with a real live baby. i can’t even think of anything cuter. oh my gosh, i can’t wait.
i could absolutely not be any happier with where i am in life right now.
