what a beautiful long weekend we got to have these last few days!peaceful, warm, sunny days. we grilled each evening and spent time with friends and fam, hallalujah! truthfully, i just plain needed it. i’ve had a few too many extra feelings bubble up in the last week and it’s just like, ugh, who has time for that? i mean, really. although, sometimes i really wish i could be one of those people who just cares about everything a whole lot less, but then when i actually feel that way, i hate it, you know? it’s so not me. i’m a feelings girl. whatever. anyway! i know steven needed this good long weekend, too, so i’m glad we had a little extra time to relax and give thanks for those that have worked to keep our freedom to have relaxation time protected for all these years! god bless the usa! thankful and proud americans, right here.

aaand now, let summertime begin!

ps. i’m not so much a beer girl, but does that six-pack scream ameeerican or what? stevo kind of couldn’t resist them when the college kids sent him on a b-double-e-double-r-u-n.pps. i’m now on day 3 of that little mess of a braid, and it sure is lookin’ cracked out at this point… but hey, it’s a tuesday so i’m just going to own it.

ppps. steven & friends started out memorial day by getting together to do the “murph” workout that i know a lot of people did yesterday in memory of a navy lieutenant killed serving our country in afghanistan. i thought that was a neat way to show honor [and finally something crossfit related that doesn’t sound ridiculous to my untrained ears], aaand while they did that i watched barbie: life in the dreamhouse with two toddlers! and everyone was happy. πŸ˜‰

Yes go 'merica! Love that shot of the beer. And that tiny hiney. Just too cute. Three day weekends are a great way to refresh and that pool must be a great way to wash away all the icky. I think I enjoy the holiday weekends more now that I'm not working than when I was. Weird. Ps I need a farm home.

Looks like you all had a wonderful weekend! We did Murph Monday and his girl is feelin' it today! I love what it's all about especially since my hubby lost many friends over his two deployments- home of the free because of the brave! Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

love the braid! I've just finally discovered that a French braid thru my bangs will keep them tamed in the humidity…. why didn't someone tell me that cutting bangs before humid season was a terrible idea???!
    beautiful photos, as always πŸ™‚

The photos are so American! The braid is perfect. And it doesn't get much better than hairstyles that can be rocked for days at a time…. πŸ™‚
