life of charmings

love, family, happiness

November 4, 2014 in halloween· holidays· maddalena· our little fam

waking up is hard. even when you’re a princess. even on halloween!

on one halloween night of 2014, a tiny princess – not yet in her princess dress – slept and slept and slept and slept and slept right on into the trick-or-treating hour. and the king and queen were like, ??????? because they knew the princess must’ve needed the sleep, but they also knew the princess didn’t need to sleep too late into the evening, and they also knew she was kind of a scary princess upon waking, and generally hated waking up. which is perfectly understandable, at least according to the queen. waking up is hard!

but… ’twas time to awaken, decided the king. ’twas time to make the candy rounds with the neighbors! the princess had been so excited about her new dress for halloween, they couldn’t let her miss the big event! and so, just as anticipated, waking up was hard, but eventually the tiredest princess in all the land was at least semi-functional. a good pouch always helps.

and so, the trick-or-treating ensued, but the weather had suddenly turned arctic! poor princess. this was not what she’d had in mind. fortunately for her, the king and queen were also her humble servants and they carried her and her candy bucket aaaall around the block.

and then, when they returned home, the eager princess turned right into a pretty little candy monster. “i want ma caaaaandy!” she continued for the next two days. until the queen ate most of it.

but anyway! after trick-or-treating that night, the king and queen and princess gathered festively with neighbors for delicious food and drink, and the next morning, the queen was sad that halloween was over because she likes to relive childhood as often as possible. theeeeee END!

haha people will just decorate for anything these days, won't they! there's one house that goes really big in the decor, including a custom built haunted house in their garage every year, but apparently that's because they throw a huge fund raiser party. and then some other houses did some kinda scary stuff that i was like shielding madd's eyes from! haha! people are crazy!
