so…. i have a little habit of staying up the night before a special day to put some happies around for everyone to wake up to. i guess, to me, that’s what makes it fun and festive!! my mom used to put chocolates and cards at our places for us to wake up to, and that was always so exciting to me.
however, it’s not a perfect system, i guess!! because last night after i was done, maddalena just came strollin’ on through at 11 pm, having gotten out of her bed. haha. when i took her back to her room she said, “i think i saw some surprises! ;)” and rocco’s response this morning was, “you made dis mess????” but hey!!! it was still fun to have little treats awaiting sleepy eyes morning. <3
ps. i seriously could not resist the valentine’s sloths this year. ever since we watched zootopia, we think sloths are pretty much awesome. we also picked out a stuffed heart with three smooches on it for steven from the three of us! stevo brought home my favorite blush roses last night [with one designated for madd, of course!] and we had a pre-valentine’s date to see diana krall play with the symphony! [!!!!!!] [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] meeeanwhile, the little bunnies made us some sweet little valentines with my mom and sis! and today, madd has school, so she’s got her own fun festivities to attend!
sidenote: valentines was theeee best in school, wasn’t it!! trading cards with everyone?! oh yes, back then we just did cards and that was enough work, right? haha. people go. all. OUT. these days! i felt like i was skimping just taping a lollipop to each… but hey! they’re organic!
anyway, i’m here on a gray, drizzly day with my tiiiiniest little mister! and oh, he is a pretty darn cute valentine, if i do say so!!!
i hope everyone is having a happy valentine’s so far!! or galentine’s because that’s pretty awesome, too. or… palentine’s? whatever, you know!

[ps. it’s also my grandparents 62nd anniversary!!! i miss them so much, and i’m more inspired by their strength and dedication every single day. they aren’t doing great health-wise, and i wish so much that we lived closer to them… but i’m sending my love and anniversary wishes from nashville. i love you, gram & pap!!!]
62 years is so so huge! Such the romantics getting married on valentine’s! I think your little tradition is super sweet! Even if the surprise was a bit lost haha! That’s why I didn’t bring down their little gifts till after all three were up and ready for school! Ha! And my goodness I felt like the tattoos the kids picked to send with their valentine’s was like waaaay not good enough. People go nuts is right!
oh tattoos are a great idea!!!! man, i can’t believe how much people do these days! madd came back with a whole load of every kind of treat! better than halloween! and i know, my grandparents were such low key romantics, it turns out!! valentine’s day!!! i love them so much.
