she likes pretty things, who can blame her?

we try to hand maddalena all sorts of things to see what she’ll wrap her little fist around and hold onto. see, that’s the kind of thing that becomes fun to big people when they start making the little people. so, we hand her rattles, stuffed animals, wine corks, pirate telescopes, little blankets, various random baby hand sized things [she’s not quite to the put–it–in–her–mouth stage yet, thank goodness]… but you know, nothing appealed to her all that much… until just a few evenings ago, when those blue eyes of hers finally spotted the bracelet that i always have on. ooooh, her tiny fingers wrapped around it and boy, they were not letting go! so, i slipped it off for her to hold, and well. that was it. her face lit up, and she was thrilled. i mean, absolutely delighted! she held onto that thing through her whole diaper change, carried it into the next room, and officially made it her go-to holding item. but really, who can blame a girl for liking pretty, shiny things? no one. no one can! and there we were trying to hand her measly little toys… ha! i mean, how insulting! sorry, baby lady! [i should’ve known since her other favorite thing to reach for is obviously my little diamond necklace. i’m surprised she hasn’t torn it right off my neck yet!] this girl knows what she likes, okay, so i guess we better just start saving our pennies! she could be asking for a matching ring any day now. mahaha. daddy’s in trouuuble! and i. love it.
