maddo goes to college!

last weekend, stevo, maddo & i took a little trippy trip down to our old stompin’ grounds! well, not maddalena’s old stompin’ grounds, but some of mine and steven’s bestest glory days were lived out there for sure. 😉 anyway, we hadn’t been back to auburn in several years, which is crazy! so, we met up with some friends for a game weekend in auburn, alabama. woooohoo!

actually, anyone who knows me pretty much knows that in my college years i struggled with the whole game day situation practically every weekend of every fall. ooh boy. i’m really not a football girl. really. not so into it, me, brittany, no. but hey! i can tailgate with the best of ’em!! and guess what! so can maddalena! ha! because this far out of college, i’d say we did some of the tamest tailgating in history, and it was so so nice. we parked it in some shade and enjoyed a really beautiful auburn day with some of our favorite friends.

maddo girl owned that campus and we were so proud!! [okay, maybe not the whole campus, but the tiny plot she tromped on, she owned!] auburn really is such a beautiful place, and i was sad that we didn’t get to spend more time walking around campus like i wanted to… but i soon remembered that game day really isn’t the most convenient time for that.

maddalena and i did, however, take a little stroll downtown once everyone else headed to the game [we didn’t have tickets, but steven got one last minute, and i was just fiiiine to skip out and relax with my little lady!]. i grabbed a smoothie at a little place that wasn’t there when we were and gazed at just a few of the streets and buildings that once felt so much like ours.

oh, what a fun and quick little weekend we had! steven and i were talking on the drive home about how funny it is to go back and see all of the same stuff going on, same places, same routine, but all different faces. it’s a little crazy to be on the outside looking in! and gosh, i remember when we were there how my friends and i used to notice the young parents with their adorable little kids coming down for game weekends, and i would think, “i bet we do that one day!” and then! there we were. with our own little princess lady because goodness, does the time fly!

thanks to our friends for one more great auburn weekend! we love y’all!

*also, we won the game. also, we played ole miss. war eagle!

Looks like y'all had so much fun! It's crazy how different tailgating is post-college. I know exactly what you mean about being on the outside looking in. I went to Clemson, and its amazing how similar the campuses look! Glad you're family had a great time.

Looks like the perfect way to spend a Saturday! Only thing that could make it more perfect would be tailgating in Tuscaloosa ;). I have been to Auburn a few times and it is a beautiful campus. I loved the downtown area. As long as Auburn doesn't play Alabama I am glad they win haha.

So fun to go back as a grown up with a little one!! I bet she'll have some wonderful memories of game days as she grows up visiting the campus.

This campus is seriously beautiful! It sounds like you had a good time. I can't wait to go back and visit my alma matter for homecoming in a few weeks!
