just a few days ago, we woke up to the feeling of fall in the air! our house was chilly, so maddalena and i did our morning wake up, song-singing diapey change routine, and then, unsure if it would fit her or not, i put her in a little pink sweatshirt that was mine when i was just a little brittany. it’s a special one, because it’s embroidered with the word presh in sweet little white letters, which, believe it or not, was one of my little brittany nicknames from my parents! [you see, i was destined for abbreves!]
maddalena was kiiind of thrilled with the cozy pink number! naturally, i decided to take some photos… and these photos have ended up being some of my very favorites that i’ve taken in a long time. it was just the most perfect morning to capture so much of maddalena at 14 months. because seriously? i loved the newborn phase… and i loved the older infant phase, and now this toddler stuff is purely magical.
we had a little tea party. she’s a natural, let me tell you!
her open-mouthed surprised face is one of her go-to reactions to just about everything these days. we pretty much think it’s amazing every single time. 🙂
and oooh, the dancing! the jigs we have around here, they’re so stinkin’ good! she is our child, no doubt about that. and the little finger-to-thumb action she’s got goin’ on her right hand… oh, that’s how she snaps.
time to give her baby a bottle! [which is funny because maddalena’s never actually had a bottle.]
oh yes, there’s baby’s eye. [we’re very into facial ID these days!]
and wait… we need something else…
…baby’s paci! [also funny. maddalena never took a paci.]
the paci makes the baby make noise, so it’s pretty exciting.
all the baby girl magic. i love it so much. i just really can’t help it. i can’t!!
and then we ate a banana with our kittycat. you know she makes the littlest things around here pretty special! and to think we’ve got 14 months of this kind of special under our belts, i’m feelin’ pretty lucky! and that presh sweatshirt, it really couldn’t have found a sweeter little body to dwell on. she is my very own little presh. <3
