some people say that their style changes a bit after they have babies, but you know! i keep wondering if mine has, really, and i just don’t think my preferences have changed much since maddalena was born! i have always really loved a good combination of comfort and style. i love comfy items that feel great to wear, but also fit your silhouette nicely so they don’t look loungey. i love clothes that you can easily dress up or dress down. i love the juxtaposition of fancy and casual… a summer dress with sandals and mascara. a t-shirt with jewelry and heels. a tank and a pretty scarf! that sort of thing!

i do also dress myself these days keeping in mind the fact that i have a little lady to set a lifelong example for, too, and i often find myself drawn to a lot of looks that are classic and modest but still definitely youthful. i want to be young and fun, and i pretty much plan to keep it that way until i’m 100! 🙂 but, gosh, i feel like i have such a hard time finding dresses that aren’t cut half way down my chest and right on up to my rear end! what is that? am i just way too tall or something?! and i’m really not the overly-modest type, either… i just have very little desire to look like a floozy!

anyway, i have to say, every time i browse over the beautiful british clothing line, boden, i’m amazed at how practically every single item is something i really want to throw on my body and live my life in! their fabrics are soft and comfortable to wear, with a really great quality thickness and texture. their lines are beautifully cut in styles that are fun. the lengths are long and high enough that i don’t have to worry about bending over and popping out everywhere! yay! there’s one less thing to worry about. plus, i like to feel like if i just happened to run into kate middleton one day, i wouldn’t look horribly inappropriate for a duchess run-in. i mean, these are things to consider!

the first i’d ever heard of boden, i was browsing baby clothes pre-maddalena and completely fell in love with their kids line, mini-boden. i didn’t even realize at first that they made fabulous ensembles for big people, too! of course they do! and i’ve lately spent so much time fawning over their summer line. especially the dresses! i love their dresses. i have the easy t-shirt dress, which i have worn both to the farmer’s market and to a wedding shower. maddalena has the ruffle dress… precious beyond precious! she just melts me in her little dresses. melts me! and i also have the essential tank top, which is an absolute summer staple for me.

    number one i completely get it with the modesty thing. kids did things to my chest that just really don't need to be shared with the world. and! kids pullllll on those regions and staying covered up would be key.

    back to the reason for this post, i had never heard of boden before. i live under a rock. but their stuff looks perfect! i'm not sure how you would pick just one item though. 😉

    also? your hair is amazing. downright awesomeness.

    First time I've heard of Boden. Their dress selection is incredible. I really like the casual Weekend Dress or the Laid back Dress- are we seeing a style here 🙂
    Then I clicked on Tunics and I was l ike… ummm… everything. BRETON TUNIC is my fav at the moment. The sorrento swimsuit is convincing me to rock a one piece this summer.Cute shop!

    We're doing my neice's one year old photo shoot in San Francisco next month which will be extra crazy, since I haven't held her since I spent the first month of her life with her! That being said, I've had a few Mini Boden items in mind for her session, mainly these three!
