the downtown franklin tree lighting!

[those seasons greetings signs they decorate the streetlights with always remind me of a night spent alongside the biebs. hahahaha. oooh, the things you will do before having children!]

december festivities are officially underway!!! last friday was a FULL one, to say the least. maddalena had her preschool christmas program that morning… then rocco and i headed to the antique store with my mom for the afternoon… then we ran over to join our friends for our usual friday bff happy hour… and then! we topped it off by heading out to downtown franklin after dark, joining my in-laws for their town square tree lighting.

and !!!!!!! the kids were DELIGHTED [almost as delighted as i was!!!!] to meet charlie brown and snoopy there!!! we haven’t stopped talking about it. 🙂 they are some favorites in our house! especially around the holidays! i literally have charlie brown christmas on my record player, pulled up in my spotify in the kitchen, and on a cd in my car… it’s pretty much all we listen to! haha! and of course, we’ve watched it a time or two already, as well.

what we also haven’t stopped talking about is the fact that rocco got to sit in the drivers seat of a really, really, really big truck… and even though he looked borderline terrified, i knew he was actually thrilled. haha. if it has a steering wheel and tires, that boy LIVES for it!

sidenote: i wore my brand new boots… and lets just say, they were not broken in in the slightest. haha! i kind of forgot about that necessary process! thank goodness for cushy socks. 🙂

so! it was fun!! and then… i guess i was so worn out, i ended up sick for two days after! and now the kiddos are sick. ooooh, december!!! only one weekend down and you’re totally doing a number on us. 😉 to be expected, right? we always make it out of december just hanging by a thread! [which is probably not the meaning of the season, so i’m hoping we can savor some slow moments before christmas comes and goes!]
