farmsitting farmhome

two little weekends ago, i had the pah-leasure of being the
daughter/sibling put in charge of farmsitting for farmhome
while my parents went out of town just for a couple of days.
[if you’re not sure what a farmhome is, it’s my family’s home. my home. where i grew up.
and it’s a farm. where my horseypie & other fluffs live. and thank g steven & i live so very close!]

i don’t always like spending a lot of time at farmhome
when nobody else is there. it’s always been a very lively place
so if no one’s around i sometimes get this feeling like everyone
has raptured except for me and i get all empty and weird feeling.
but this time was really wonderful! all the animals were so cozy
and the whole farm was feeling extra fall-ish.

one afternoon, after a day of drizzly rain, all these flocks of geese friends
came to visit the horses in their pasture. and dig for worms, i guess.
they were so cute and there were SO many of them. i was kind of
in shock and immediately drove as close to them as i could.

and one evening, steven & i shared a bottle of my parents’ wine [cha-ching!]
and got take-out mexican food for dinner before going to visit friends.
that’s a really perfect evening, if you ask me.

and then the next day the sunshine came out, shiny and bright
with its glittery golden rays and everyone was the happiest.
the minnie & penny pups could hardly contain themselves.

[1. geese friends scattered through the pasture, 2. minnie & penny on a drizzly afternoon, 3. sharing a bottle of cabernet, 4. jin & sun the ducky husband & wife having their brunch, 5. ponies red & dusty in front of the little barn, 6. mother/son donkeys julie & mack waiting for their hay with kittycat maddie hangin out, too. 7-11. happiest pups ever.]

i might be just a little bit biased…
but there is really no place like farmhome in the fall.
also, there’s no place like farmhome in the summer.
or on christmas morning.
or snowed in for a weekend in january.
there’s just no place like home i guess!
no place like it.

I love your farm! One day, I will have my own farmhouse with lots of animals. And a farm in the snow- the best! Lovely pictures. And I must agree, mexican and wine really is the best.

You are so right – growing up on a farm is the best. Had to do a doubletake on Minnie in 8…that
    couldn't possibly be her teeth!;)

Your farm looks amazing, I've always dreamt of having a lil farm with a big family but alas I think I'm too much of a beach and city girl. But those horses!!!!!
