these fun fairy lantern kits come with everything you need to make these cute things!! although, we did a DIY version so rocco could make a spider lantern. that was super easy, too!
rocco will dress to the nines when given the opportunity… but then he came out having wiped my dark eyeshadow aaall over his cheeks, haha! he said he thought it would make him look “dirty.” haha! looked like a snazzy coal-miner, for sure.
i keep these maddalena-esque faux-flowers on hand just for the most maddalena-y of occasions! a garden theme was only natural for our little rosey girl. topped it off with a little tissue paper butterfly she made in preschool that i still just adore. 🙂

my mom and my sister made maddalena’s beautiful birthday cake!! it was as delicious as it was lovely, and i’m ever so grateful, as baby girl had specific desires and cake decorating is just not quite my thing.
“chrissy!” is her idol. and i totally get it.
she is the most satisfying person to give birthday gifts to, i swear!

thank the heavens above for the human angel on earth that is maddalena rose! it’s hard to believe we’re already 8 birthdays into life with her, and it’s equally strange that we’ve only had 8. she is everything wonderful topped with a whole lot of glitter and a solid portion of spice! we love you so much, rosey girl!!

ps. madd’s ruffled white dress is soft and cozy and made in the USA!! she loooves it, and i will definitely order more from that brand. mine is made in china, takes forever to arrive, and i had to rip the elastic out of the sleeves they were so tight… but… haha. i do like it!
